Individualize a Social Presence
The requirement that defines each Grouping will now be considered as if it is a Level and the impact of the dynamic duality analysed. The Centre(s) that result will be appropriately named, and where the level is bipolar, one Centre will be assigned due dominance.
For this set, we will work from below upwards because all security and self-reliance rests on effectively and so clarifying interests relevant to a possible social relationship.
CG1: Mobilize Views
Mobilizing views is based on the 7 clarifiers of interest. Social relationships cannot be expected to fulfil all your hopes and wishes, but they must relate to your interests or be in your self-interest or you will not pursue them. Interests are the basic motivation here.
Dynamic Duality: Accessing your interests and mobilizing relevant views is necessarily under personal control. While your interests are fully your own, both the process of mobilizing and the views themselves are stimulated by and dependent on external factors. In practice there is no meaning to your views apart from the situation you find yourself in. So the two factors are fused or synthesized.
In the Tree, this level becomes a single balanced Centre: ,
and we label : .
CG2: Proffer Disclosures
Proffering disclosures shows as 6 types of declaration. This is the activity that connects with others. It opens up the possibility of a social relationship and starts to prepare the ground for assessing its worth and suitability.
Dynamic Duality: In all cases, you have to take the initiative, choosing when, where, how and to whom to make declarations. However, any disclosure must be relevant and sensitive to the other party and the situation more generally. The personal and social factors must therefore be fused or synthesized in practice.
So, in the Tree, this level becomes a single balanced Centre: ,
and we label : .
CG3: Reveal Intentions
You must reveal your intentions to focus the relationship that is emerging. This generates five methods of engagement to which the other may respond more or less positively.
Dynamic Duality: You can completely control the intentions that you reveal, and you can choose whether or not to engage through any of the methods whether it is with a disagreement, a policy, a version, an authoritative account, or an assumption.
However, during interactions and dialogues, the other party can put their own views and values forward without you having any control over their choices. When they do this and you regard a future relationship as possible, you cannot just ignore their position but must respond.
This means that this level in the Tree will generate two polarized but connected Centres: and .
We label :
and label : .
When you engage in relationships, you cannot fully control the process—social factors and forces do that. However, your goals and values will influence how you respond to their offers, and what they reveal will influence what you reveal. So the two Centres will affect each other. However, your own intentions will always be dominant.
So the personal Centre is dominant and placed on the right side of the Tree.
CG4: Assess Fit
The relationship now in place calls for assessment of the fit using four degrees of testing—to deal with the bond, the affinity, the power balance and the prospects. This assessment has to be owned by you because it is critical for determining the social relationship. Taxonomic principles mean that this Centre will likely connect directly with all other Centres except your .
Dynamic Duality: While testing and assessing is under your control, the object of that testing, the fit, is not, and its key elements are all dynamic and evolving. The two control factors must therefore be fused or synthesized.
So, in the Tree, this level becomes a single balanced Centre: ,
and we label : .
If you can mobilize views, proffer disclosures, reveal intentions and assess fit, then you will have individualized your social presence. This provides the foundation for an acceptable that fits you.
Social relationships both generate and consume a lot of energy.
- Continue to the levels that allow you to harness energies.
