Structure Development and Pressures in Structural Hierarchies
The Observed Pattern
A developmental sequence is evident in structural hierarchies by considering how groupings regularly function in the frameworks.
Each grouping is expressed as a Requirement that specifies what must be established in the framework. The Requirement is met in practice by the operation of the groups and that operation generates a State. This State is regulated by the Requirement of the next higher grouping which produces its own State, which is regulated in turn by the next higher grouping, and that process continues—and is ultimately cyclic in that the State at G7 is regulated by the Requirement at G1.
As investigated in the previous topic, the Requirement is driven by a 1° pressure which determines the identity or essence of the grouping while its groups are driven by a different 2° pressure.
This produces a striking pattern in which the 2° pressure at one level appears as the 1° pressure at the next higher level, with a cyclic arrangement in that G7 leads to G1. But why is this the case?

A Proposed Explanation
For any particular grouping, the 1° pressure drives generation of its Requirement because that is the grouping’s identity and reason for existence.
When the Requirement of a grouping is put into effect through the groups, the 2° pressure becomes operative and governs how those groups function. This functioning generates a State characteristic of the grouping.
The State, which is based on the functioning of the various groups, is enabled, constrained and regulated by the Requirement intrinsic to the next higher grouping.
To affect the lower State, the higher Requirement must affect the lower level groups. That means the nature of the higher Requirement must be driven by the same pressure that is needed to drive the groups in the lower grouping. Put another way: the 2° pressure that drives lower level groups must also be the 1° pressure of the higher Requirement.
Note that psychosocial pressures are not themselves acted upon, transferred or transformed. Each pressure operates in two linked settings with two different effects: structuring or constituting for the higher grouping and operational for the lower grouping.

The G6-Planes of Breakthrough must be maintained and regulated by which therefore needs Selflessness as its 1° pressure. The enable G7-Courage via the operation of the single G7 Mindset which is driven by Autonomy.
The G7-Mindset of Courage must be maintained and regulated by which therefore needs Autonomy as its 1° pressure—which is where this account commenced.

**G5:** G5-Perseverance enables the State of G5-Vantage through the three G5-Regimens, whose operation is driven by Well-Being. G5-Vantage is maintained and regulated by G6-Immersion. Because this regulation affects operation of the G5-Regimens, G6-Immersion is driven by Well-Being as its 1° pressure.
**G6:** G6-Immersion enables the State of G6-Breakthrough through the two G6-Planes, whose operation is driven by Selflessness. G6-Breakthrough is maintained and regulated by G7-Challenges.
