In Practice

The notion of identity is crucial to appreciating and investigating THEE, and to using any of its tools and technologies. It is as important in handling others as it is in handling yourself: after all, your identity pressure is as powerful as theirs.

In practical terms, identity shows up in any action in the social world, where the necessity for «doing the right thing» must be combined with:

doing what you can
doing what is right for you

and usually, but sometimes less satisfactorily, it also involves

doing what you prefer
doing what you are used to

In experiential terms, identity implies continuity. It means there is «a self» as a distinct essence. Recognizing identity is about discriminating similarities and differences that matter—which is where THEE assists.

All Achievement is Tied to Identity and to Will

Every endeavour element can be traced back to its hypothesized origin in the Root Cell of THEE that is named «Will». This Will is biological and unique for each. No-one can sever from it while alive. Its myriad manifestations via the Taxonomy reveal our uniqueness.

We each achieve in social contexts by using our personal abilities and qualities. However, recognizing and valuing our own strengths and the strengths of others can be more difficult than it seems. Understanding the Taxonomy may assist here.

Taxonomic inquiry has also reaffirmed a difficult truism: great achievements require us to put our own ego (desires, habits) aside. This is necessary to observe ourselves, others and situations dispassionately and without prejudice. Taking this stance is a matter of will, but in the sense of willingness.

THEE provides numerous technologies essential to support individuals in affirming and applying whatever identity (preferences, values, mentalities) they may consciously have.

Taking identity seriously and bringing it to the surface of consciousness seems to be difficult within the current cultural development of many societies.
