Endeavour's Origin

Introduction

Endeavour emerges from a single cell: the Root Cell (R) or Origin of THEE. This Root Cell, whatever it may represent, is personal. So what emanates from it must also be personal. Personal endeavour is therefore the origin of endeavours of the more impersonal variety—organizational, governmental &c.

What about «creative endeavour»?

The term «creative» is redundant, because all endeavours are created by us. «Being human» requires us to constantly foster creative potentials. However, emphasizing «creative» is potentially unbalanced, because it could be viewed as one pole of the duality: «creative v destructive».

Without the potential for both creation and destruction, endeavours are not fit for human participation. Machines are preferable. So endeavour is always assumed to demand «creative» development and to be under threat from «destructive» developments.

It is difficult to grasp and name this Origin. It has been assigned the THEE-name: Will. Will is postulated as the source of all elements of endeavour and of all directed personal energy. We can appreciate, philosophically, the existence of Will: the Root Cell. However, we can never properly comprehend it.

Comprehension properly begins with a simple-looking but mysterious hierarchical framework which emanates from this origin. This hierarchy is named the Framework of Endeavour. An alternative name could be: Levels ofWill.

The Hierarchy of Endeavour is the Root Hierarchy (RH). It serves as the understandable progenitor of the whole taxonomy. It is mysterious because of the way it generates the ten thousand things that constitute psychosocial reality. Its own structure, certainly not fully understood, is distinctive and more complex than any other hierarchy within THEE.
