Psychosocial Pressures
There are multiple sources of psychosocial pressure at play.
Q4 Pressure
The psychosocial pressure intrinsic to any Q4 structure is Well-Being,a nd this is taken to apply to the Governing Arenas in the Purpose Domain.
Arenas also have a secondary operating pressure, which in this case is provisionally taken to be Autonomy.
Both of these pressures resonate strongly with the personal functioning that is being described in this Satellite.
Mentality Pressures
The Q4-complex is formed by combining all 4 levels within Individualist Choice and the lower 3 levels within Communalist Choice. In the diagrams, these forms of choice are shown in the right-hand column.
As explored in the Architecture Room, each of these mentalities is subject to a distinctive psychosocial pressure. The findings there propose that the lower 4 levels in the Tree are under a pressure for Understanding, while the upper 3 levels are under a pressure for Acceptability.
It surely comes as no surprise that social standing and security within society is dominated by Acceptability.
However, the requirement for Understanding in developing a position in society forces us to acknowledge the role of communication in the formation and maintenance of all groups and communities. See more here.
Level-oriented Spiral- & Root-derived Pressures
The pressures associated with each stage in the Spiral are assumed to be transmitted to the levels in the Tree. These are a form of structural or identity pressure and are shown on the right in the requisite Tree.
There are level-based pressures associated with operating each Centre and research in the Architecture Room suggests these are derived from the Root Levels. These pressures are shown on the right in the self-centred Tree.
Here is a comparison:
Arena | Spiral-derived Identity Pressure |
Root-derived Operating Pressure |
---|---|---|
L7 | Acceptability | Selflessness |
L6 | Well-Being | Autonomy |
L5 | Certainty | Understanding |
L4 | Autonomy | Well-Being |
L3 | Understanding | Acceptability |
L2 | Selflessness | Certainty |
L1 | Performance | Performance |
