Life Challenges & Primal Needs

Correspondence

In studying the Root projection to the Principal Typology Complex, the context for endeavour was examined and analysed. It includes Primal Needs and Primal Means for meeting those. Spontaneous pursuit of these goals define the human condition.

Now that these are identified, correspondence to the Life Challenges and the R+R response become evident.

Some seem obvious:

Provide Useful Accounts meets the need for knowledge.
Work for Another meets the need for association.
Use Time Well meets the need for achievement.
Sustain Group Cohesion meets the need for governance.

Somewhat less obvious correspondences are:

Produce Achievement, which meets the need for individuality (and not achievement, because that is doubtful).

Handle Close Relationships, which meets the need for competence (perhaps because life's stresses obstacles must be handled together).

The final correspondences then falls into place:

Maintain equilibrium meets the need for discrimination, which controls Change-RL3. This seems to fit given that the life challenge is about ensuring stability and envisaging (i.e. depicting) transformation following severe destabilization.

Patterns and Psychosocial Pressures

The patterns that result are confusing.

The correspondences are shown in the Matrix below and include details about the originating Primary Hierarchy, in case that is relevant.

The Life Roles are shown because they sit well with the combination of the necessary psychosocial pressure and the Primal Need.

ClosedComments:

The Primal Need corresponding to the R+R Tree framework serves a specific Root Level that shows an uncertain relation to the Primal Need in the originating Primary Hierarchy.

e.g. it is reasonable that the need for individuality (from PH4) leads to handling close relationships and fosters competence; and it is possible that the need for competence (from PH7) leads to useful accounts (all PH3's) that provide knowledge; and it could be that the need for association (from PH5) leads to using time well (all L1's) which results in achievement.

The necessary pressures in the emergent frameworks (shown with RHL number which is identical to PH-L Centres). Except for PH6-Purpose (autonomy), they differ from those found in the originating Primary Hierarchy

There is one converse arrangement:

PH3 gives rise to the Tree of all PH-L7s
PH7 gives rise to the Tree of all PH-L3s
