The State We Are In

Warren Kinston 4. November 2015 09:00

Black hole

Two big ideas have been the source of endless strife and much debate throughout the ages: “God” and “the State”.

I have not yet posted my work on “the State” because it requires explaining minor modifications of published frameworks. However, our present global predicament pushes me to explain here how these ideas are intrinsic to our personal functioning. We can then consider the consequences for our societies.

Given today's world, a world riven by war both declared and undeclared, we should strive to understand what is happening. More...

Encouraging Thought: Goodness may seem Problematic but It's there All the Time

Warren Kinston 21. July 2012 14:30

Most people are good (virtuous) most of the time.  The world would not work if they were not. That's an encouraging thought.encouraging thought

Life continues daily with each and every one of us producing goodness in small or large actions.  The good is expressed in our words, appears through the realization of our intentions, and shows up everywhere in fleeting non-verbal communications.

If we open our eyes to see the good as we walk down the street, we will see it.  The question may be asked as to why we do not routinely bother to look and remind ourselves that life is good and people are good. More...

Battle Against Evil? Or Turn Your Attention Elsewhere?

Warren Kinston 5. June 2012 10:00

Must we battle against evil?  Evil certainly poses an issue: What to do about it.   "Doing" is a practical question, so it can be handled by THEE.

And then there is the «problem of evil»: why a God that is absolute goodness can allow suffering and cruelty to exist.  This is a philosophical question.  Most of us don’t live inside a philosophical world, although judging by blogs and websites the number of amateur philosophers seems to be exploding.  More...

Detox the Body or Detox the Mind: How the World Works.

Warren Kinston 26. April 2012 10:00

Detox the mind

The last blog about «purifying the mind» asked if there was an alternative popular word for "purify". There is: it is "detox". But do you detox your mind or your body?

A few blogs ago I talked about the Mind v Body debate and other dialectics in developing a personal identity.  I promised to tell you how mind (thesis) and body (antithesis) are synthesized.

The recent blog on purifying yourself has reminded me of that promise because to detox your mind is a different kettle of fish to detoxing your body.

Body v Mind is generated by an Identity Approach named "Emotional Being".  If you combine «Body + Mind», the synthesis is «The Self».  Do you agree that your Self is both your mind and your body?  I hope so, because you can't have a Self without having both of these.  This higher level Identity Approach is named "Individual Being".  What then catalyzes More...

Purify the Mind - Purify Yourself. It's Just Plain Common Sense

Warren Kinston 22. April 2012 22:30

Purify the mind. Courtesy jontunn Light 4Purify the mind.  Is that a strange idea for you?

Most of what I write about in THEE is common-sense knowledge. All I am doing is putting it into order and explaining how different aspects of social life need to be more finely discriminated.

I like explaining how bits of living relate to each other, especially when those relationships are misunderstood or taken for granted. However, now and then I come across something which is being ignored. Usually on a rather temporary basis but sometimes over many decades.  Rarely longer.

That sort of thing happened today: with the notion that you ought to purify your mind.

I was doing some internet research on the various ways that people deal with the hurts that attend living.  Any pain or suffering leads More...
